Shawn Farshchi

Chief Executive Officer

Shawn Farshchi is Chief Executive Officer at Topia, the leading Global Talent Mobility company. With more than 35 years of enterprise tech experience, Shawn has a proven track record for leading, driving and managing innovative, high-tech companies in highly dynamic environments.

Before joining Topia, Shawn co-founded Flype.ai, an innovative customer enablement solution. Prior to Flype, Shawn was President and CEO of Aryaka Networks, where he led the company to quadruple its revenue and customer base in less than 3 years to become one of the largest players in the SD-WAN space. Before joining Aryaka, Shawn was the President and CEO of Saba Software, where he guided Saba from its legacy as a pioneer and leader in learning management software to a key market player in the broader talent management space. During his 4 years at Saba, Shawn played a pivotal role in building out the Saba Cloud suite, a market-leading global customer base and a world-class team.

In his four years as chief operating officer at Coremetrics, Shawn re-engineered the company for accelerated growth with innovative AI-based technology, driving impressive company KPIs, which ultimately led to its acquisition by IBM. He’s also held key executive roles at WebEx Communications (acquired by Cisco), Oracle, BroadVision and DHL. Shawn holds five U.S. patents, along with a BS in Electrical Engineering from San Francisco State University and an MBA from Golden Gate University.

Sten Tamkivi

Chief Product Officer

As CPO, Sten is leading all of our Product Management, Engineering, Design, and Research teams. He was previously the CEO of Teleport, a startup helping people move to their best place to live and work (acquired by Topia, then MOVE Guides, in 2017). He founded Teleport while residing as an entrepreneur at Andreessen Horowitz. Sten served at Skype as an early executive, riding the roller coaster for more than eight years from startup to the $8.5B exit to Microsoft. He has lived in four countries and has been building software companies since 1996. Sten holds a MS in Management from Stanford GSB.

Terry Schmid

Chief Financial Officer

As CFO, Terry will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Topia’s financial strategy and operations. He is a seasoned executive with 20-plus years of experience building and leading finance organizations in high growth technology companies. Most recently, Terry was the CFO at Apptus, a leader in Quote-to-Cash and Contract Lifecycle Management software, which was acquired by Thomas Bravo in September 2018. Prior to Apptus, Terry held positions as CFO at Imperva (through the IPO), Coremetrics (acquired by IBM), and many other tech companies. He began his career as an Andersen consultant after successfully completing an MBA at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. He holds an undergraduate degree in economics from the University of San Francisco.

Steve Black

Chief Strategy Officer

Since co-founding Topia in 2011, Steve has been there to see the company grow from a small London-based startup to an award-winning Global Talent Mobility platform supporting organizations around the world. At Topia, Steve leads strategic initiatives leveraging deep industry and customer insight. An expatriate himself, Steve understands the challenges of moving abroad, and is dedicated to ensuring that everything we do at Topia is in the best interest of our customers.

Originally from the great state of Illinois, Steve has worked and lived across the US, Switzerland and New Zealand before planting his feet in London. Steve was previously an Associate Partner at Oliver Wyman, where he lead consulting engagements across North America and EMEA. His work spanned aviation, retail, insurance and energy, focusing on helping clients turn data into actionable insights and operational improvements. Representing his Midwestern roots, Steve holds a BsC in Industrial Engineering and Economics from Northwestern University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude.

Neha Mirchandani

Chief Marketing Officer

As CMO Neha Mirchandani is responsible for driving Topia’s global brand awareness, and go to market strategy. She has 20+ years of experience in B2B and SaaS marketing, most recently as VP of marketing at RingCentral, where she was instrumental in raising the company’s overall brand awareness in the market. She previously held senior marketing roles at Cisco Systems, Adobe, 8×8, and Instart Logic. Neha also serves as an advisor to early-stage startups.

Bill Mastin

Senior Vice President, Sales and Services

Bill is the Senior Vice President of Sales and Services, responsible for global sales of Topia solutions and the teams that deliver services to Topia customers.

Prior to Topia, Bill was the EVP of Sales, Account Management and Alliances at PeopleFluent, a SaaS provider that global enterprises use for their talent acquisition, talent management, and learning platforms. Additionally, Bill has held several leadership positions over 20+ years in the talent & learning space that includes NetDimensions, Saba, and IBM Global Services.

Jacky Cohen

Vice President, People & Culture

Jacky leads People and Culture, overseeing the employee experience and people operations from the moment a candidate applies and throughout their journey as a Topia employee. She brings experience leading teams and scaling People functions at both Lyft and Pandora to the Topia organization. Jacky is passionate about embedding the People function into the organization as a strategic partner and building a values-driven culture.

Elaine Foreman

General Counsel

Elaine Foreman is Topia’s first General Counsel. She is an experienced in house attorney focused on maximizing revenue opportunities and optimizing the business for future growth. Elaine brings nearly 20 years of experience in Fortune 100 enterprise level legal experience to Topia. She previously held legal roles at Autodesk, Cisco, and HP, and was also in private practice and worked for the US government. Elaine oversees all real estate, legal and compliance matters for the company.

Will Toms

Vice President, Customer Success

Will Toms is the Vice President of Customer Success, responsible for overseeing the customer success organization and driving program success at Topia’s customers. Before Topia, Will was the VP, Customer Success at Rimini Street. His team will focus on increasing renewal rates, expanding revenue, and driving new business growth through greater advocacy and referenceability. With more than 25 years of enterprise tech experience, Will’s emphasis has been on integrating the voice of the customer into a company’s strategic plans to increase profitability and build customer satisfaction and retention.

Brynne Kennedy

Brynne Kennedy is the Chairwoman and Founder of Topia. Her idea for Topia stemmed from her global career in finance and researching how bold companies are transforming their workforces with mobility between locations and roles. Brynne is also the Founder of #Mobility4All, a nonprofit that empowers those moving poverty and conflict, and to which Topia contributes 1 percent of its revenue.

Brynne has won many accolades for her leadership, including Entrepreneur of the Year in the Women in IT Awards, Women of the Future Awards, and Stevie Awards. Brynne has been named a Workforce Game Changer, one of 25 people changing the HR industry, and one of Management Today’s 35 Under 35. Brynne holds an MBA from London Business School and BA in History from Yale University.

Jazmin Medina

Principal
NewView Capital

Jazmin has deep strategy, product, operational, and investment banking expertise. She co-founded and was Chief Operating Officer of Bundler TV. Jazmin also held senior roles in business development and strategy at Warner Bros and Goldman Sachs. She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and an undergraduate degree in Finance from Arizona State University.

Jos White

General Partner

Jos is an entrepreneur turned investor and currently a GP at Notion Capital, a venture capital firm focused on the enterprise tech market across Europe. Before Notion, Jos co-founded, built, and exited three businesses—RBR Networks, Star, and MessageLabs. In 2008, MessageLabs was acquired by Symantec for $700 million, a landmark transaction in the emerging Software-as-a Service (SaaS) sector. In 2009, Jos co-founded Notion with three other partners to invest in the high-growth enterprise SaaS opportunity. Notion is based in London and now has more than $350 million in funds under management.

Shashank Samant

During Shashank Samant’s tenure as President and CEO of GlobalLogic, the company has become a digital product engineering services leader that has rocketed in size and revenue. His passion has transformed GlobalLogic into a trusted partner for global Fortune 500s—all while developing a culture that fosters engaged employees around innovation and client success. Previously, Shashank was President of Ness Technologies, where he founded and built the company’s product engineering business. Shashank also managed product engineering for HP’s Verifone line of business and was instrumental in establishing IBM’s first Indian engineering lab, thus globalizing its R&D and engineering.

Mike Ettling

Mike Ettling was appointed a Non-Executive Board Member in 2017. Mike is a Masters in Finance graduate with over 20 years’ experience of executive management, particularly in the technology and HR Software as a Service sectors. Most recently he was the President of SAP Success Factors, the HR Cloud software business for SAP SE. Prior to this, Mike was Chief Executive of NorthgateArinso, a global HR services company. He has served as Vice President, Global BP Strategy and Operations with Unisys and started his career with KPMG and EDS. Mike is also a Director of NCC PLC in Manchester, Impellam PLC in London, and Business Connexion Limited in Johannesburg.
