Topia Promotes Elaine Foreman to Role of General Counsel

SAN FRANCISCO (December 18, 2018)—Global Mobility Management (GMM) company Topia today announced the promotion of Vice President, Legal and Real Estate Elaine Foreman to the newly-formed position of General Counsel, broadening her previous role to now include complete legal strategy.

In her new role, Foreman will ensure legal optimization and conformity of business operations, oversee transactional processes such as contract negotiations, and manage regulatory compliance. With a specific focus on maximizing revenue opportunities and optimizing the business for future growth, Foreman brings nearly 20 years of experience in Fortune 100 enterprise-level legal expertise to the table.

Foreman joined Topia (then MOVE Guides) in October 2017 and has since handled all of the company’s legal matters ranging from commercial transactions and global office leasing to intellectual property protection, strategic partnerships and mergers and acquisitions. This new role expands on those duties, giving Foreman an opportunity to invoke a more strategic approach to guiding the company’s growth trajectory.

“After spending more than 15 years in large enterprise law, I came to Topia for an exciting opportunity to be part of growing something, to see my work have an immediate impact for both the company and our customers,” Foreman said. “Topia offers a tremendous value proposition for companies of all sizes, but especially for large global organizations with expansive GMM programs. I love that we’re making such an impact on an industry that’s been technologically stagnant for so long.”

Before Topia, Foreman spent three years as director and senior counsel for Autodesk, serving as the lead counsel for all sales functions in the Americas. Previously, she worked as both director and senior director of legal services at Cisco, supporting its $38 billion Worldwide Partner Organization. She also spent six years as senior counsel at Hewlett-Packard and three as an antitrust associate at Bryan Cave, a large, multinational corporate firm based in St. Louis, MO. She also worked for three years as a staff attorney at the Federal Trade Commission after earning her Juris Doctor at American University, Washington College of Law.

“Elaine has been an outstanding addition to our team from the start, guiding us skillfully and strategically through a major acquisition, a rebrand, numerous partnership deals, GDPR implementation, and intellectual property protection,” said Topia CEO Brynne Kennedy. “As we look ahead, Elaine’s experience and insight will be extremely valuable for demonstrating to our enterprise clients that we have the resources and expertise they’d expect, and for setting us on a mature path to success.”

“It’s also pretty exciting that having Elaine on the executive team continues our goal of gender parity in the C-suite,” Kennedy added. “We’re passionate about ensuring women have access to growth and leadership opportunities, and we aim to facilitate that, not only for our clients, but also within our own company.”
